Is this your first Multiverse? Been here since year one? Either way, we have a TON of awesome new stuff this year that we’re sure you won’t want to miss out on. Here are some highlights:

Guest of Honor Panels:

  • Nilah Magruder - Friday 5:30pm in GATHER (Bernstein II): Come meet the award-winning artist, illustrator, animator, and author in person! Hear all about her art, writing, and what cool projects she has in the works.

  • Sheree Renée Thomas - Saturday 4:00pm in GATHER (Bernstein II): An hour with the multiple award-winning, groundbreaking, and industry-changing author and editor. Sheree is responsible for several of the most amazing projects in recent genre fiction, including work with Janelle Monae and Marvel. You won’t want to miss this chance to learn more about her.

  • Mary Robinette Kowal - Sunday 1:00pm in GATHER (Bernstein II): Former SFWA President, multiple Hugo- and Nebula-award winning author, voice actor, puppeteer, and much more… is there anything Mary Robinette can’t do? Come meet her and hear about her life and work.

Writing Workshops:

  • Friday Night Writes: Groups will provide peer and professional feedback after each attendee has read their selection together. This workshop should run for about an hour and a half, giving each attendee thirty minutes of critique. INFO & ADVANCE SIGNUP (required) located here

  • Slush Wars: This year, Multiverse will have a special panel where you can have the opening pages of your work read anonymously, and then get immediate feedback from publishing professionals on their impression of your opening. Please only one submission per attendee, and only the first 600 words. Submissions will be read by a moderator while the panelists follow along on their own printed copies. Crafting Workshops: Come learn how to make some super cool crafts, and leave with your very own handmade products! Some workshops require materials fees and/or advance signup.

Book Launch Fair: 10:00am-12:30pm in GATHER (Bernstein II) - The Gather Room has been converted into a festival where so many of our authors are launching and promoting their new books, including Guests of Honor Mary Robinette Kowal and Sheree Renée Thomas! Pop in, buy some books, have some fun! There may even be some nostalgic freebies to remind you of the Scholastic Book Fairs of your youth…

Artists’ Reception: Saturday 6pm-7pm in the Art Show. Come enjoy a selection of complimentary wine and beer while you browse the amazing works of our 2022 artists. Meet the artists themselves, buy prints, and bid on unique pieces. You can also vote for your favorite piece to win the People’s Choice award!

Evening Events:

  • Friday Night: open karaoke + Marc Gunn musical performance in GATHER (Bernstein II)

  • Saturday Night: Marc Gunn musical performance, Cosplay Expo, and dance party in GATHER (Bernstein II),

  • Saturday Night: The Fandom Nerdlesque (geeky burlesque show!) in Mercer (Concourse Level). 18+ only please!

Cosplay Expo: Come strut your cosplay in a fun, non-competitive show hosted by the fabulous Joel Ruiz! All skill levels and styles welcome, from professional to closet cosplays. Funny, scary, cool, whatever - let’s see what looks are hot around the Multiverse this year. Sign up in advance here!
